The Village International School in Thodupuzha.

March 16, 2018

I am truly delighted to share our wonderful interaction and the opportunity we had to engage with the parents at The Village International School in Thodupuzha. Our commitment to ensuring a safe, healthy, and happy childhood for our children is of utmost importance.   Allow me to narrate a story that I shared with the parents during this special occasion, a story about the "Seven Doctors." These seven "doctors" represent the fundamental aspects of a child's well-being. Let's meet them one by one:

  1. Dr. Sunshine (Dr. S): Children need sunlight, and although the summer sun can be intense, morning and evening sunlight is essential for Vitamin D.

  1. Dr. Water (Dr. W): Water is the only energy drink our children truly need. Let's lavish them with water this summer and keep them away from sugar-loaded juices and drinks.

  1. Dr. Exercise (Dr. E): Children need to run, jump, play, and explore their world through physical activity. Encourage them to move and take their playtime outdoors.

  1. Dr. Air (Dr. A): Fresh air is essential for their well-being. Encourage them to play outdoors in natural settings and breathe in the fresh air.

  1. Dr. Rest (Dr. R): Children need 8 to 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep for their physical and mental well-being. Avoid late nights and let them enjoy their childhood.

  1. Dr. Emotions (Dr. E): Allow children to express their emotions freely. They should feel all emotions, including anger, sadness, fear, and happiness. Help them choose the right words and actions to express these feelings.

  1. Dr. Diet (Dr. D): A healthy diet is crucial. Opt for fresh fruits and vegetables, and avoid junk and fast food.
These seven "doctors" promised to take care of our children. However, a new "drug" emerged, the "digital drug," which can affect children's lives in various ways. It can deter them from playing outside, lead to unusual emotional expressions, disrupt their sleep due to sensory overload, promote unhealthy eating habits, reduce physical activity, and give parents a false impression of increased intelligence.   Our message emphasizes the importance of maintaining a balance and ensuring that children meet their "seven doctors" daily. While we do live in a digital age, it's crucial for parents to be aware of the potential consequences of excessive screen time.   Our commitment to reaching out to parents and preschoolers to promote a hopeful future and safeguard childhood is a mission close to our hearts. We believe in providing children with strong roots before they soar into the world. Let's continue to raise awareness about the well-being of our children. #Parents_Be_Aware #TogetherWeCan #Safeguard_Childhood 🌟👏
