Indian Education School, Kuwait

November 8, 2020

I'm delighted to share that my recent talk at Indian Education School, Kuwait, received a positive response, and I'm grateful for their write-up summarizing the entire hour-long discussion. As many of you know, I've been passionately expressing my concerns about how online education, as currently implemented, may be negatively impacting an entire generation of students.   In this journey, I've encountered various responses from schools. Some ignored my concerns, some explicitly asked me to refrain from discussing the issue, while others engaged in constructive conversations about potential alternatives and improvements. However, there are schools, like Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, that not only invited me to speak but also actively listened.   I believe that it takes a great sense of responsibility and accountability for school management to consider opposing views and make decisions in the best interest of the child. This event was a testament to that commitment.   The talk revolved around the theme "Is your Connection Stronger than Wi-fi" and included a presentation. I emphasized the acronym OLD IS GOLD to highlight the challenges and the importance of addressing the mental health aspects of children in the context of online education. Unfortunately, I won't be sharing the Q&A session as most of the questions were specific to the school and some were personal.  https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=pfbid034yT3BfeXqF9YLZG6EDZztqEHvKW2T813GynERQ6ZZNpCFetSpGgTupMCNDnoFPual&id=100004108419899
