At TogetherWeCan, we are always in pursuit of knowledge to further our advocacy for individuals with disabilities. Our latest initiative involved a unique approach to gather information about the implementation of disability-related regulations in every State and Union Territory in India. To make this journey both educational and engaging, we decided to involve our young participants. We wanted to teach them about the Right to Information (RTI) Act, and what better way than hands-on experience? Our participants learned about postal orders, acknowledgement cards, registered post, and the significance of patience. It was a journey of discovery, where our young learners were introduced to the power of knowledge and the tools to access it. Now, we eagerly await responses to our RTI applications. How many acknowledgement cards will return, and how many states and union territories will respond within 30 days? The journey has only just begun, and we are filled with anticipation. This initiative wouldn't have been possible without the guidance of our dedicated advocates, Ninan and Mathew Group. Their support has been invaluable. We'd also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Vaishnavi Jayakumar, who played a crucial role in sourcing postal addresses for this project. At TogetherWeCan, we believe that knowledge is a tool of empowerment. Our goal is to use the information we gather to enhance our advocacy for individuals with disabilities and promote their rights and well-being. Knowledge is the first step towards positive change, and we are committed to making that change a reality.
