"On this Autism Pride Day, I reflect on my educational journey in Psychology. It began with a single line in my textbooks during graduation, a glimpse into the world of Autism. Over time, that line evolved into a paragraph during my postgraduate studies, though the subject remained a mystery. With determination, I earned my Master's Degree, which legally qualified me to work with children with Autism. Special education courses followed, focusing on various aspects, and I obtained special education certification and RCI registration. Years of dedication working with parents and children with Autism illuminated the intricacies of this condition, knowledge not found in textbooks. I further delved into Behavior Modification, recognizing its value but understanding that Autism extends beyond behavior modification, language, and communication. Today, as part of my doctoral research and numerous interviews with parents, one truth stands out: PARENTS need to be INCLUDED from the start in every therapy and training process . Professionals may change, but parents remain constant, committed out of love and necessity. To the parents of children with Autism, take PRIDE, for you are the true experts. Professionals can facilitate, support, and guide, fostering independence, not dependency. #AutismPrideDay #TogetherWeCan #AutismClub"
