This workshop and concept note bring to light the critical issue of child safety, especially concerning children with disabilities. The primary consideration in all actions concerning children should be their best interests, and this includes protecting them from sexual abuse, which is one of the most heinous crimes against children. Child sexual abuse has far-reaching implications, affecting the physical, mental, sexual, and reproductive health of the child. It is not only a matter of child protection but also a public health concern. The state has an obligation to provide medical treatment, emergency contraception, and testing for sexually transmitted infections to child survivors of sexual abuse. Health professionals must be trained to respond appropriately, respecting the privacy and dignity of each survivor. The law mandates medical care for victims of sexual abuse. Caring for child survivors of sexual abuse should follow specific guidelines, promoting the child's best interests, safety, comfort, confidentiality, and involvement in decision-making. It is essential to treat every child fairly and strengthen their resiliency. The program's objective is to pressure the government to establish a policy framework for the prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse. Inter-sectoral collaboration is crucial to deliver justice and support services for victims. One critical aspect addressed here is the vulnerability of children with disabilities to abuse. These children may have difficulties with comprehension, mobility, verbal communication, or social interaction, making them even more susceptible to abuse. It raises a valid concern about the practices of licensed and non-licensed professionals who work one-on-one with such children without adequate safeguards. Raising awareness and advocating for the rights and safety of these vulnerable children is essential. The silence and fear surrounding this issue need to be broken, and it's the duty of all concerned individuals to be the voice for the voiceless. Let's work together to protect the rights of these children and ensure their safety. #ChildSafety #ChildrenWithDisabilities #ProtectOurChildren https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=pfbid02MjreGyRmnXTxCgzKmWn1QeA9fcmKccahUXpRjFdA6Zxfr5uNRZPsGqLWbnAm53YMl&id=100004108419899
