The opportunity to engage with Room to Read and facilitate a day-long session online in Hindi for 38 social mobilizers involved in promoting girl child education across Delhi was both exciting and fulfilling. Despite Hindi not being my mother tongue, the participants' enthusiasm, willingness to engage, and their vibrant energy made the experience incredibly refreshing. We delved into stimulating discussions, emphasizing the evolving understanding of the concept of "Dignity." The day was a reminder of the value of continuous learning and how seemingly complex issues can find clarity in open and respectful conversations. In contemplating the definitions provided by dictionaries, it's apparent that terms like "Disease," "Disorder," "Deviance," "Difficulty," "Difference," "Diagnosis," and "Disability" all involve aspects of human experience that can be unique and intricate. Rather than getting caught up in semantics and labels, what truly matters is our willingness to offer support when we see others struggling. It's about showing empathy, being curious about their experiences, and seeking help when necessary. Let's not be lost in terminology; let's be found in compassion and understanding.
