At TogetherWeCan, we've been fighting for the rights of students with disabilities for years. We're thrilled to share a victory that will make a real difference in the lives of many!
Kochi CBSE schools faced a major hurdle for students with learning disabilities – a lack of government specialists to conduct assessments. This meant long delays and immense stress for students trying to get the certificates they needed for extra time, scribes, or substituting a difficult subject during crucial board exams.
Last year, the situation became particularly difficult when the CBSE rejected assessment certificates without clear reasons. Seeing the anxiety and frustration this caused, TogetherWeCan took action. We filed a complaint against the CBSE for their lack of clarity on assessment criteria.
Thankfully, our voices were heard! The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has recently issued a notification allowing private medical experts to conduct these assessments. This is a huge win for students with disabilities!
This change will not only streamline the process but also significantly reduce stress for students, parents, and schools. We're proud to have played a part in securing this victory, and we look forward to a smoother exam season for all!
