September Musings Day 3:

September 3, 2024

Writing has kind of become a routine—but not rigid YET. So, I was okay with letting my thoughts wander, thinking about what to write. That’s when the word "September" itself struck me. 🤔 You ever wonder why "Sept" means 7, but it’s actually the 9th month? Is this some sort of cosmic joke, or are we secretly living in a parallel universe where time doesn’t make sense? 🚀
It got me thinking: Our thoughts are like that too. We start with one idea, and suddenly we’re in a “transworld” of our own making, jumping from one strange idea to another. And honestly, that’s the best company we can have—our own thoughts, as long as we’re curious about where they take us.
Curiosity got the best of me, and I dug deeper. Turns out, the Romans originally had only ten months, and September was indeed the seventh. But then King Numa Pompilius added January and February to align the calendar better with the lunar year, pushing everything forward. Mystery solved! 📜
But what if I hadn’t found the answer on Google or from ChatGPT? I’d have left it to the unknown, still curious, maybe asked someone, and let it be if nobody knew. I wouldn’t fret, just believe there’s a reason I don’t know—YET. And that’s the power of the word YET. Writing isn’t routine YET, and not rigid YET. I don’t know something YET. Things aren’t working out—YET. Adding YET changes anxiety into curiosity and panic into faith.
So, the 3rd Musing is "The Power of the Word YET." Because if you can’t laugh at the fact that September is the 9th month when it’s clearly named wrong, what can you laugh at? 😄
