It's indeed a significant milestone for Kerala to finally implement the KeSCPCR order of 2016. This achievement required persistent efforts, including follow-ups through RTIs, PILs in the High Court, social media campaigns, meetings with SJD, discussions with Ministers, and ultimately a PIL in the Supreme Court. The result is that all disability-related queries can now be addressed locally. Having clarity on who is responsible and accountable in each district is a crucial step towards more effective and efficient support for individuals with disabilities. The upcoming hearing on July 17th is anticipated with hope, as it may pave the way for similar progress in every state. The goal is to ensure that every single district in the country has a functioning DLC.
