The Quest for "Organic" and "Inclusive" Labels In a world where we often seek out the "organic" label on our fruits and vegetables and are willing to pay a premium for it, it's worth pondering: Weren't all fruits and vegetables originally meant to be organic? Perhaps, it's the ones without the "organic" label that should be clearly marked as "Chemicals Laden" or "Full of Pesticides." The label becomes necessary when the norm deviates from what is natural and healthy. Similarly, the phrase "#INCLUSIVE_EDUCATION" raises a similar question. Education should inherently be inclusive, catering to the diverse needs of all students. So, why the need for a label? The schools that are not inclusive should be the ones proclaiming their reasons for the exclusion. Let's celebrate those schools that require no labels because their core mission is simply to nurture and educate children with love and dedication. Recently, I had the privilege of witnessing a graduation ceremony at Crafts World School, and it was a heartwarming experience. Preschoolers graduated with the same enthusiasm as any other student. They embodied the essence of childhood, with their spontaneous and carefree nature on full display. Some waved to their parents in the audience, some were captivated by their graduation gowns, while others were mesmerized by the glitter and danced to their own rhythm. It was a pure celebration of the innocence and wonder of childhood. The teachers played a crucial role, providing that extra love and attention that some children needed. They did it so naturally and discreetly that it became an integral part of the ceremony. Despite an unpredictable technical glitch and an hour's delay, the parents, grandparents, relatives, and guests waited patiently and offered their understanding and assistance. It was a testament to the strong sense of community and family within the school. I couldn't help but think of a quote that perfectly encapsulates this school: "A great school does not need the latest technology, the cutest classroom, or fashionable equipment. What they do need is a passion for learning and the heart to love every student who enters their campus." The school's first Annual Magazine, titled "#REFLECTIONS," reflected this spirit. It included every child and was a beautiful creation from the heart and soul of the school. I had the honor of releasing this magazine, and it felt like receiving an Oscar - a feeling full of goosebumps! During the event, I received a return gift, and this time, the little one who gave it agreed to part with it, unlike a previous incident when she ran away with my gift, declaring, "Tharooolla .. ithe ende schoola" - it had a picture of her school campus! It took some convincing, but I got it back. It's a reminder that schools can bring out the child in all of us, fostering a sense of wonder and joy in learning and life.
